Can We Even Sing in the Same Room?

Bob Kauflin, the worship pastor for Sovereign Grace Ministries, shares some interesting thoughts about cultural narcissism, and worship based on solely our own personal likes and tastes in this interesting talk. I invite you to click on the link below, watch it and share your thoughts.

Can We Even Sing in the Same Room?

It's important for those of us who plan worship to keep in mind that there are multiple generations in the room. It is also important as members of a church to be mindful that there are multiple generations in a room.

We've all heard this before, or even been tempted to think it and say it...

"I can't worship to that," or ,"I am distracted by this or that." "I really don't like that song." "Man, that song is soooooo old, dude."

However, if I really look deep, I realize that if I don't worship, it has more to do with my own need for a heart-check than it does with whether I like the music I am hearing. What hinders my worship can be nothing but my own responsibility.

Isaiah 66:22-23 (New Living Translation)
22 “As surely as my new heavens and earth will remain, so will you always be my people, with a name that will never disappear,” says the Lord. 23
“All humanity will come to worship me from week to week and from month to month."

It is pretty clear that not only will multiple generations worship, but multiple cultures, all in the same place...at the throne of God Almighty.
